Noticing Things and Getting Things Noticed
I will talk about inspiration, observation, collecting and classifying, influences, rules and games, self-publishing, and the pursuit of personal themes (making my own work in spite of clients ringing up and interrupting me with their problems) without aspirations to become an artist under the headings of ‘going amateur’ and ‘graphics without clients’.
George Hardie trained in graphic design
(St Martin’s, RCA) and has worked as a designer/illustrator for 38 years, solving problems and making illustrations for a variety of clients (in 14 countries to date.) He is Secretary of Alliance Graphique Internationale, a professor at University of Brighton and a Royal Designer for Industry.
